Facial Neuromuscular Acupuncture

Conditions such as Bell's palsy, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome, trigeminal neuralgia, stroke, MS, myasthenia gravis, and others can significantly impact the neuromuscular function of the face as well as the social impact of disfigurement, stress and anxiety. These conditions can cause symptoms such as ptosis of the eyelid, loss of facial muscle function, pain, and neuropathy. Utilizing a multifaceted approach to treating these conditions can lead to more effective treatments and longer-lasting results compared to a singular approach.

Many studies have demonstrated early intervention with acupuncture in neuromuscular conditions of the face shortens the time of recovery from acute onsets.

Here are a list of some of the more common neuromuscular conditions that effect the face:

Bell's Palsy

Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction

Trigeminal Neuralgia

Stroke

Multiple Sclerosis

Myasthenia Gravis

Ptosis
